“Glass Team have developed a great partnership with 5R Solutions, for all our waste glass recycling. 5R Solutions can repurpose this glass into Insulation, Filtration sandblast media and bottle products, which help support our Environmental Sustainability initiatives. It is encouraging that we can recycle approximately 98% of our glass waste, which would have previously been taken to landfills. Chris and his team were very supportive with their knowledge and advice when Glass Team were planning and setting up operations in 2015. We have been appreciative of 5R Solutions initiatives, which we have included in our operations and subsequent growth. Glass recycling is made easy and it's great to know that the lifecycle of our products can be continued in an environmentally sustainable way.”

“The disposal of windscreens had long been a problem for the auto glass industry but one 5R Solutions was determined to help NOVUS solve.
Typically, windscreens were disposed of in landfills around the country where they are estimated to take a million years to breakdown.
NOVUS contacted Chris Grant from 5R Solutions in 2010 and became a Foundation Customer - we have worked closely with Chris and his Team diverting thousands of tonnes of windscreens from landfill to recycling.
Chris' ability to solve problems and think outside the square is what sets his company apart.”

GPF

Glass Packaging Forum (GPF)

Our purpose is to connect businesses that sell glass-packaged consumer goods with those that collect and recycle glass. This enables glass to be returned to the furnace or made into alternative products, with the aim of zero container glass to landfill.

Established in 2006, Glass Packaging Forum (GPF) also promotes the environmental benefits of glass packaging and manages the accredited GPF Product Stewardship Scheme. There are more than 100 member brands which pay levies to the Forum related to the volume of glass they put into the NZ market place.

GPF works hard to build strong relationships with local and central government, waste management companies, recyclers and other community groups to promote and facilitate best practice for the recovery of glass.

GPF provides financial assistance, in the form of grants to provide infrastructure to improve glass recovery, facilitate glass recycling and fund research into alternative uses for glass.

The GPF represents its members’ interests within Industry and government and seeks to continuously improves the performance, relevance and awareness of product stewardship for glass.

The GPF recognises the significance of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and the part the GPF Product Stewardship Scheme plays in allowing NZ consumers and business to meet this goal.
