Christchurch South Library Deconstruction Project
5R Solutions partnered with Christchurch City Council, Cook Brother Construction (CBC), and Taggart on the Christchurch South Library deconstruction project. This initiative was focused on carefully removing and recovering all flat glass from the building so it could be recycled, rather than it being sent to landfill.
The Christchurch South Library
Through strong collaboration, planning, and a shared commitment to sustainability, the project team successfully diverted over 8.5 tonnes of glass from landfill. By giving this material a second life, we not only reduced wastes but also contributed to lowering the environmental impact of the deconstruction process.
This project stands as great example of how industry and local government can work together and create positive environmental outcomes for our community.
